In 1976 The Who toured the US and this beauty of a shirt did as well. Actually worn by Roger Daltrey the shirt became famous in numerous photos taken along the way.
This shirt is 35 years old. I have a few questions about it. Where has it been? Was it in the basement at Rogers house in his summer clothes box or was it housed under glass in a psycho fans home or was it just in the bottom of his tour trunk. Thirty five years is a really really long time for a garment. Take a second will ya, do YOU have a shirt you wore in '76 still around and holding up this well? Which leads me to believe this is the Dorian Grey of garments. Now, its been signed by Daltrey himself and you can have it if you've got the cash.
The shirt is being auctioned on eBay UK and there (at write time) are only 56 bids but I gotta warn ya, its not cheap. 100% of the proceeds of auction will got to the British Teenage Cancer Trust.
The Trusts mission statement states it is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances for survival for young people with cancer between the ages of 12-24. The charity funds and builds special units in National Health hospitals so that teens can be treated together and receive specialized care fitting to their age. A great cause and pretty cool that this geezer is taking part.
Again- a THIRTY FIVE year old jersey in near mint condition.. oh and signed and worn by a rock legend. Get the check book.
