The Shins are back!!! Pardon my enthusiasm but I missed them. Can you believe it? The series of shows they have just announced will be their first performances since 2009!
Five years after their 2007 ‘Wincing the Night Away’, James Mercer has promised a new album for 2012, but it will be finished after the tour and released via Mercer’s label, Aural Apothecary, which has signed a deal with Columbia Records.
I know he was busy with that Broken Bells business, but it was time to go back to the real thing.
According to Under the Radar magazine, the new lineup will be completely new as Yuuki Matthews will be on bass, Jessica Dobson on guitar, Richard Swift on keyboards, and Joe Plummer (of Modest Mouse, Mister Heavenly, and others) on drums, Mercer being the only original band member! Can you still call them the Shins so?
