The Runaways: “Take It Or Leave It: A Tribute To The Original Queens of Noise

Tribute time!
This time to the infamous waif The Runaways.  It's amazing to me that there hasn't been a million of these already.  The Runaways: “Take It Or Leave It: A Tribute To The Original Queens of Noise is 36 songs recorded by some famous and some not so famous bands. To be released by  Main Man Records who will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the American Institute For Cancer Research in memory of Runaway drummer, Sandy West, lost her battle with cancer in 2006.
There is no 'official' word from any of the remaining Runaways but really what difference would it make?  The Runaways were quite the musical pioneers.  It's nice to see a proper tribute and though  I can't really imagine the Dandy Warhols covering "Cherry Bomb", but I sure as heck can hear The Donnas' "Queen of Noise."
This 2-Disc collection be worth it if only to hear the not so famous bands performing theses classic songs.  Shonen Knife for one is a rather fantastic Asian girl band, nice to see them involved.   Lets face it no matter what it's going to be better than that pathetic movie.
