Glen Campbell has Alzheimer's disease, and at the age of 75 one of the most despicable of illnesses is gonna rob him of everything.
And on Friday he performed his first concert since announcing the long, wearying, heartbreaking future that awaits him. At the IP Casino resort And Spa in Biloxi, Mississippi the beloved singer began his farewell tall, a 22 song performance that included two new songs off his August 25th release.
This follows a disastrous Tachi Palace in Lemoore concert in February which lead directly to the announcement.
On Friday the performance was conspired a triumph.
From session work to fronting the Beach Boys to a decades spanning career that included many country hits in the 1960s and 1970s, it is only with this terrible news that we can back up and salute the great singer. "Wichita Lineman", " Galveston" "Gentle On My Mind"… the hits just kept on coming.
