Well that sucks. I loved Jack White and The Raconteurs (yes I did just make him the leader). I loved the quirky almost uncomfortable sound. Vocally more awkward than swarthy they had me at 'Steady As She Goes". It's been two years since they have done…….jack.
But now comes word that they will be playing MI Fest at Brooklyn, Mich.'s Michigan International Speedway.
This sorta pisses me off cuz what the hell Michigan? No one even lives there anymore now that the auto industry tanked. If a band doesn't play Boston or New York then they're no longer a band. It's really that simple. While Im on the topic their second LP "Consolers of The Lonely" sorta fizzled in comparison to "Broken Boy Solider". Those of you who burned that CD to your computer also got a bit of a prank as all the songs are renamed as is the disc itself which is a huge pain in the ass from an iPod. Oh those silly latte' sucking hipsters.
But still, I would have loved to see them live and I really hope for a third redemption release.
Band member Brendan Benson said "not out of the question. I don't know when the next time we'll all be available to make a record, or even talk about it, will be. When we were founded it was whimsical and impulsive and spontaneous and all those words. I think it'll always be that way."
Who the hell is Brendan Benson? What is he doing that's so important?
Jack is busy with Steve Colbert and the rest of the lot is just waiting for the phone to ring or for the van to pick them up to go to MI.
