The Pogues Fairytale of New York 25th Anniversary

There are numerous rock and roll Christmas classics.  Think about it "2000 Miles", "Father Christmas", "Merry Christmas Baby" are just three of the songs you will hear about 15 times each before December is done.  This isn't a bad thing of course but it is predictable.  Much like The Pogues "Fairytale of New York".

"Fairytale" isn't exactly found on every radio station.  Its a darker more sad type song but the tradition of it remains the same.  Its a classic and amazingly enough it is 25 years old.  Forgive me for saying this but i thought it older.  Could it  be that was just 25 years ago when Kristy MacColl whined out these words?  Yup.

So what's the best way to celebrate?  Re Release!!!  Prepare yourself for the holiday re-release of the track in a variety of different formats.
