The New Mogwai video for "San Pedro"
I have already written about Mogwai’s excellent album ‘Hardcore Will Never Die But You Will’, and they have now a video for the fifth track, ‘San Pedro’, directed by photographer Anthony Crook, who had already used Mogwai’s ‘How To Be A Werewolf’ for his short film ‘Thirty Century Man’.
The mini film follows a mysterious man in black through the snowy streets of New York, only showing his back and never revealing who he is or even what he looks like.
His determination to get to his deserted destination, a closed warehouse, fits the unstoppable music which progresses like a steamroller fueled by heavy beats and fuzzy guitars. It’s as powerful fascinating piece, which does not give any obvious answer like many great pieces of art.
