Meatloaf. He showed himself to be a bit of a whack job when he participated in the NBC series Celebrity Apprentice. If you missed that season its well worth you searching it out on Netflix for the breakdowns alone. Meatloafs career was as big as he was. A stereotypical early 80s act who ushered music out of the cool 70s and into shit like Van Halen. His mega hit ‘Paradise By The Dashboard Lights”, became and anthem and his “I’d Do Anything For Love (but I wont do that), became an M&M commercial.
We thought he went straight to acting but we are wrong. In the new trend for old timers the ‘Las Vegas Residency” is a nice way to get the buffet eating crowd to your show and saves the artist the wear and tear of a road tour. Meaty is on board for this and it starting pretty dang soon.
RockTellz & CockTails Presents Meat Loaf at the PH Showroom inside Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, beginning Thursday, Sept. 26. Tickets are already on sale and they actually have ‘package’ deals for this. I actually find it sort of cool- I mean I may not be a fan of his music but he seems a cool dude and any fella who can flip his lid like he did on Apprentice is OK with me.
The official press buzz:
Performed in an intimate and interactive setting, Meat Loaf will offer a rare stripped down deconstruction of his 47-year music, stage and film career. Performances will incorporate his biggest music hits like ‘I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That),’ as well as ‘Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad’ and ‘Paradise by the Dashboard Light’ from his 1977 classic Bat Out Of Hell ‘ the 3rd best-selling album of all time. Transporting his undeniable stage and film presence to the RockTellz & CockTails stage, the Texas Film Hall of Fame and Grammy Award-winning artist will offer the audience a diverse and unique show like no other entertainer.
‘I’m thrilled and honored to headline the first series of RockTellz & CockTails in Las Vegas,’ said Grammy Award-winning musician Meat Loaf. ‘I’m excited to offer my fans such a personal experience, one that lets them share in the crazy journey I’ve been on for the past 47 years.’
Just don’t piss him off.
