The Kooks "Junk of the Heart (Happy)" Reviewed

The 60's pop intro of drums and strum usher in a synthy sound reminiscent of Austin Powers soundtrack.  It has the 'yeah baby' Brit swaggah infamous as the man of mystery.  This song should be played over the credits of the next in spy series.   Really the mini dress and go go boot dance beat simply do make me.. happy.

The Kooks are a band that I really like.  They have never let me down, they were good enough live and have left me with some memorable lyrics.  The nasal Luke Pritchard are adorable.  Though he really needs a decongestant. Maybe that's what I love, the discomfort of his voice woven in the happy flippy musical.

He just wants to make you happy (if you're a good girl). What a simple yet powerful statement all wrapped up in a cute bubble gum wrapper.

I have nothing negative to say about these guys, they're a win in my book and sit there on the top shelf with The Wombats and Art Brut as symbols that Britain still produces some incredibly catchy pop.
