The Killers Release Another Video Directed By Tim Burton (And With Winona Ryder This Time)

The Killers have released a new video for their song ‘Here With Me’ off their 2012 album ‘Battle Born’, and I suppose that the most interesting part of it is that the clip was directed by Tim Burton and stars Winona Ryder. Oohhh it’s so Edward Scissorhands I guess!

Winona, an unanimated mannequin most of the time, becomes the obsession of a really creepy kid, lets' just add it was filmed in a sort of weird British Coney Island, the seaside resort of Blackpool in Northwest England, and you have another typical Burton's film.

On the band’s website, an explanation about the video was posted by Tim Burton himself: ‘The first time I saw The Killers perform live was in Blackpool, UK shortly after completing work on our first collaboration, the music video for Bones. When I heard the song Here With Me I remembered seeing a wax figure of Winona in Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks in Blackpool. The concept of the video is inspired by the 1935 film Mad Love, starring Peter Lorre, as well as the works of Mario Bava. It was a pleasure to film in Blackpool and to work with The Killers, Winona Ryder and Craig Roberts. I hope you enjoy and Happy Holidays!’

Honestly, I found the video much more interesting than Brandon Flowers’ boring croon and even the song itself. The last seconds are especially inventive! Is it what we call 'to be consumed with love for someone'? Just watch it:
