Ever since I caught Drake on SNL I’ve been hunkering to see him on stage and this set list is tasty indeed. I don’t know Drake’s material as well as I know Kweezy’s so if I seem a little vague that is why. But I do know I am shocked he isn’t performing one of his greatest songs, “Over My Dead Body”.
1. Tuscan Leather – Opening track off the newbie, and one of the best. A long and winding whinge – A-
2. Headlines – Flat out masterpiece and he crushes it live, no doubt that’s why he lays it second. I’m actually looking forward to seeing the stage design on this one – A
3. Crew Love – Made stars out of the Weeknd, sounds like Frank Ocean without the confusion – B+
4. Further Thing – Nice backing track but I bet everybody is heading for the bathrooms – B-
5. Wu-Tang Forever – Disappointed it wasn’t more Wu Tangy but it’ll do – B-
6. Own It – Around about now, we will be like come let’s get it together – C+
7. Pop It – French Montana – Sure, it took a French Montana song to lively up myself – B+
8. No New friends – DJ Khaled – I have no reason why Drake is playing this, it belongs to Ross – B
9. Love Me – Future – I guess this is where Future comes in, not bad business as usual – B-
10. Home – Future – Didn’t drake kick him off? This is a real drag – C+
11. Same Down Thing – Future – he’s married to that r&b hottie right? Ciara…? – C+
12. Fuckin Problems – A$AP Rocky – This is really great, tough vocal, hook on hook, the real deal – A
13. The Motto – I don’t think Drake has done one song with Weezy I’ve really liked – C+
14. VERSACE – Some nice speed rapping and Drake sounds like he’s having fun and the drums go pop pop pop – B+
15. HYFR – Whoops, Lil Wayne and Drake have ONE SONG together I like, hell ya – A
16. Come Thru – My friend Jenelle just walked in to my office and sang this to me! – B+
17. From Time – Is it good? yes, it’s good, but it’s not “Over My dead Body” – B+
18. Hold On, we’re Going On – I bet Drake’s next album sounds a lot like this – B+
19. Connect – here we go, bathroom time again – C+
20. Too Much – One of his jazzy smoke filled piano samples behind some r&b singing before Drake paints by numbers – B-
21. Pound Cake – Is all Jay-Z capable of doing is phoning it in? or is that cell phoning it in? – C+
22. Black And Yellow – Wiz Khalifa – Drake sounds as if he is on ludes mixed with Courvoiser, Wiz never stays far from the chronic – B
23. Worst Behavior – One of the three best songs on the newbie motherfucker – A
24. The Language – Emphatic rap, maybe his best flow of the album – B+
25. 305 To My City – nice electronic tweaking on the vocals – C+
26. All Me – All stars bring the album to a close, but live they have one more song – B
27. Started From the Bottom – Drake as cheerful as you’ll ever hear… now if only he’d play “Over My Dead Body”
