The Big 4 of '90s Punk Rock?

Riding on the entrails of the Big 4  Metal Tour there is now news that a grassroots crew is shooting for a Big 4, Punk Rock Tour… 90's.

First and foremost lets straight up say there IS NO 90s punk  The bands they're hoping for?  Bad Religion, Green Day, The Offspring and Rancid.  I will nod to Bad Religion and meh to Rancid but the other two are as punk rock as Conway Twitty.

This is a facebook campaign to get it going- here is the info

There have been rumors that Bad Religion, The Offspring, Green Day and Rancid are going to do a tour together, dubbed "The Big 4 of '90s Punk Rock". They deserve to do this because they all made California punk popular and helped revive punk rock in 1994. The goal is to recruit as many members to stick to the you-know-what as possible in order to get all those bands to listen to what we have to say. We want old school punk back. We would love to see this touring lineup record any live concert for a DVD just like Megadeth, Metallica, Anthrax and Slayer did. Another goal is to get the four back together and save punk once again.

In March 2011, a fan at The Bad Religion page posted something funny but interesting in that website's forum. He said:

"Bad Religion is Megadeth, because they're the best of the Big 4
Offspring is Metallica because their older stuff is so much better than the new
Green Day is Anthrax because they suck
Rancid is Slayer because all of their songs sound more or less the same and because of the tendency for the vocals to wear thin after a while."

So, let's make that rumored tour true so we can save punk!

Eighties punk .. maybe.  Nineties punk is a joke.  Big  4?  Big what? Beer guts? This is the has been crew.

You want big four?  Lets get X, Rancid (and they're only invited out of respect to Tim Armstrong and his relationship with Strummer), Get the bastards from The Dead Kennedys and Fear off their damn couches and lets have a party.  Anything else is as pathetic as calling Kesha R & B.
