You'd think I'd have something snarky to say about the Beach Boys, buncha old dudes in Hawaiian shirts, right? Wrong. These are some way cool cats and you whippersnappers should pony up for some schooling. Surf sound aside, the legendary band is back and about to release their first album since 1996.
The release date will be on June 5th. The album title? Well, no one really knows right now. This also makes the Boys cool. In a world full of teaser album 'art', track listing, bla bla bla, these guys cut to the chase and say.. you can have it June 5…whatever it may be.
They have nothing to prove simply because they have already proven it. A promo video about the album and single was posted on The Beach Boys’ VEVO page. Fantastic.
Yeah, it sounds of another decade but there is nothing wrong with retro done right. This video is a really cool tribute to their style. They still got it. Amazing harmony in the new tune. It really is sort of scary how incredibly strong their voices still are, time stops- they rock. “That’s Why God Made The Radio” will be the first single and you can hear a smidgen of it here.
