The Agnostic Front sorta owned the NYC punk scene in the late 80's. Not the nicest group of fellas but they did their job and the newbies thought they were so cool…but that's cuz they weren't around when the New York scene WAS cool.
Although fragmented and around since about 1980 the suburban white boys didn't call them Gods until maybe '84 or '85. Interestingly enough in the late 90's, they were signed to the infamous Epitaph Records, why does this not surprise me? They fit the Gurlewitz recipe perfectly! Old men in midlife crisis!
Well get this they're about to embark on a three date reunion tour. Can a tour be 3 dates? Heralding themselves as the kings of NYHC, they aren't even playing New York City. What the hell is that about? They will perform their 'classic Live At CBGB set" to fat old boring people nowhere near CB's.
6/23 Frederick, MD @ Café 611
6/24 Reading, PA @ Reverb
6/29 Rochester, NY @ Dub Land Underground
Nothing beats celebrating thirty years of New York Hardcore in Reading PA!! WTF? Retire. Why the hell do old has been rockers think head bandanas hide their receding hairlines? I blame Van Zandt for that trend…
