Apparently Adele is changing the trend in music! Through May of this year overall sales are up 1.9%, the first rise since (eeek!) 1994.
Though CD sales are down by 8.3% , digital albums are up an astonishing 16.8%, digital single sales up by 9.6%.
So why?
Dunno, though I bet the release of the Beatles back catalogue helped tremendously and perhaps Adele got people more into the habit of buying albums… maybe.
