Ted Nugent Announces His Black Power 2013 Tour

Nothing coming out of Ted Nugent’s mouth has ever made sense to me, but this time he has reached another level on the WTF scale. He will hit the road this year and he is calling his tour ‘Ted Nugent Black Power 2013’. He announced it on his website WND, advertised as a ‘most trustworthy News Source of 2012’, and, with lots of batshit crazy politics in his column, he proclaimed that Obama is ‘the clear and present engineer of the destruction of black America’ and that dirty Democrat politicians are black Americans’ true enemy. While advancing only affirmations and not even the shadow of some connections with reality, he was proud to say he was celebrating his black heroes every day:

‘My fire-breathing musical career was literally launched by black musical thundergods such as Bo Diddly, Little Richard, James Brown, Wilson Picket, Sam & Dave, Albert King, BB King, Freddie King, the mighty Funk Brothers, and the epitome of Rock ‘n’ Roll Gods, the master, Chuck Berry. The music these gentlemen created gave birth to my music and all great, moving, soulful music. We owe it all to them.

Regrettably, the study of modern-day black history by future historians will not be bright or rich. I predict the fundamental blame for this will be laid at the feet of the Democratic Party.

There is no doubt that my 2013 tour will be the best of my life. With world-class virtuosos paying tribute to our black heroes nightly, it is only fitting that this year’s tour is aptly titled, “Ted Nugent Black Power 2013.” Say it loud: my music is black and I’m proud!’

Sure, nobody would remember about James Brown, Little Richard, BB King and Chuck Berry… without Nugent’s help! Who does he think he is? All the people cited above who are still alive should sue his ass for being hijacked this way. And that delusion he channels funk, soul or R&B music is plain ridiculous!

These days, Nugent probably tours the county-fair circuit attended by camouflage-attired-over-the-hill fat guys carrying guns at concerts and driving pick-up trucks with deer trophies in the trunk. His audience totally embodies the racist-redneck cliché. Remember, this is also the same guy who said that it would have been better if the South had won the Civil War, or claimed this about South Africans:

'Apartheid isn’t that cut and dry. All men are not created equal. The preponderance of South Africa is a different breed of man. I mean that with no disrespect. I say that with great respect. I love them because I’m one of them. They are still people of the earth, but they are different. They still put bones in their noses, they still walk around naked, they wipe their butts with their hands. These are different people. You give’ em toothpaste, they fucking eat it … I hope they don’t become civilized. They’re way ahead of the game’… Yuck! This look-at-them-they-are-dirty-savages-but-I-am-like-them is certainly the worst form of racism!

No matter how hard he tries to put the N-word in Nugent, he will always sound and look like an insane redneck wearing the confederate flag in concert.
