I don’t think these guys need any publicity, Tame Impala instantaneously sold out two dates at the Fonda and the El Rey here in Los Angeles, but since they have just released a new video for their super catchy song ‘Feels Like We Only Go Backwards’, let’s write about them.
This song isn’t their most psychedelic one of their last album ‘Lonerism’, which is actually filled with tunes having much more complex, muddy, fuzzy, foggy textures. In fact, it’s the song that literally pop up from the rest of the album, as the most straightforward and poppiest song of the lot,… And isn’t that Beatles-esque hook sweet?
In reality, Tame Impala may be insisting too much on their psychedelic tendency by producing such a mind control designed clip, with bright colors and movements of heads inside heads coming straight from an acid dream, but it is nevertheless fascinating and hypnotic. The video fits the music so perfectly that you may play it in repeat starting now.
