The Horrors took the stage after 11 pm and I got immediately this strong 80s gothic new wave vibe, combined with frontman Faris Badwan’s foggy and monotonous vocals. Haven’t we heard this before? Sure, the deadpan delivery à la Ian Curtis mixed with some Morrissey’s lament chilling the atmosphere

This is so slow that Stephen Malkmus, who I haven’t much cared for since Wowee Zowee and whose Pavement reunion a couple of years ago was a huge disappointment, is my pick of the week. I’ve streamed it and apparently moving to Berlin hasn’t changed a damn thing.
