In a flurry of accusations and hair-pulling, the Romanovs blew apart at the after party at the legendary Riot House in the early hours of Sunday, August 17. It was a night fueled by triple shot lattes and Starbucks induced mania.
The Romanovs, with their own brand of “pre-classic rock, ‘re-imagined” made for some stand out gems last night. ‘Be Mir Bist Du Schon’ and ‘Honey Don’t’ had the audience on their feet and dancing up a storm. Los Angeles scenester John Mendelssohn’s brilliantly arranged music with the combined talents of guitarist Pete Castle (aka The Ledge) and bassist Kirk Henry brought the house down.
Still, it is”Tell Her No” that knocked me for a loop, it is obscure enough to be a hit all over again in the sort of world where the Czar beat back the White Russians and the Commies and took his people from the brink of destruction to a bright white and light future world where The Romanovs rule the world.
