Remember about The National’s performance at New York’s Museum of Modern Art in 2013? They repeatedly played the same song (‘Sorrow’) over and over for six hours…. What. a. bore. No, this is not even close to what they think, since they want to release the damn thing!
Sunshine On My Back – The Nationals – I had written that sometimes bands move forward and sometimes they stay in place and this stays in place and then I noticed it was recorded two years ago. Still, damn good, with Sharon Van Etten on backup vocals and sunshine nowhere near anyones shoulders – B+
It’s been suggested the movie was faked and to a degree it sure serves Matt because he comes across as the sweetest and most reasonable big brother on the planet, trying to express the limits of his stardom and also the limitless of his affection for his uncomfortably jealous little brother.
This makes me miss the good ol’ days when we used to get together and trash the Twilight Soundtracks, here is another teen maelstrom of discontent and death and slaughter and more… another crappy soundtrack album.
In an attention getting, quietly arrogant 35 minute set, the band commandeered the Piano stage with a lead singer Matt Iwanusa whose baritone deserves comparison with Matt Beringer
