The only positive thing I can think of adding to this story list is most of it will be gone by next week, Frozen, an album I can’t stomach, loses its # 1 position to a compilation franchise. How sickening is that? And the rest of this is MOR drips and those that aren’t didn’t sell much anyway. Sad stuff, really. To have your record broken by a franchise album
I might not always much care for mainstream pop hits but on the other hand, I might. I am certainly not
surprised by them. But I am surprised by how these terrible songs can have entered the consciousness
of pre-teen America
Yeah I saw “Frozen” and a fun movie no doubt but compare it to even second tier Disney, “The Jungle Book” say, is there anything comparable to “Bare Necessities”? The truth is there is nothing remotely close to the greatness of the Sherman Brothers anywhere .
A little on the lame side right? I’ll give em Eminem and beyonce but after that, ugh, it seems to go one forever, talking loud but saying nothing. When does 2014 kick in here?
There is no question in my mind that this will be adapted for Broadway, which was, no doubt, Disney’s plan all along. Even the choice of composers, the Tony-winning couple Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who wrote Book of Mormon, lends itself to such an adaptation
The songs are just plain awful, all of them, even “Let It Go”, even “Let It Go” when sung by Idina Menzel, certainly one of the best Broadway singers of the 21st Century, even with a Idina Menzel portraying Princess Elsa, the Snow Queen -a sort of Silver Surfer who can’t control her powers
