Summer Lovin’ by Mary Magpie

Graduating Summer was brought to my attention when they commented on one of the band’s statuses on Myspace. It said to check them out, and why not?
I’m glad I did.

The band consists of four boys from Iowa, and they’re talented ones at that. The singer’s raw voice catches my attention, and the music is equally pure. The instruments are like old Fall Out Boy and even older Taking Back Sunday put together.

“All You’ve Done” is an incredibly great song. They certainly don’t sound as young as they look. This song has me clicking repeat every time. It’s ineffably good, and I think the greatness lies in the singer’s voice.

“Goodnight, I Love You” is my favourite song by GS. It’s so catchy, and the words are genious. The beat keeps you hooked, and when it gets to the chorus, you hope the song never ends.

“Summer Catch” sounds like a song you’d hear by an up and coming band in an underground venue. It definitely shows off their talents, and it takes risks. It’s either the fact that they’ve been a band for a long time or they’ve all been hardcore musicians for years. Whatever it is, it makes them great.
