The Strokes: “A Band Is A Great Way To Ruin A Friendship”

According to the Strokes lead singer Julian Casablanca the last great old school no hyphen rock band the Strokes are having a civil war over the new album. Half of the band consider it finished, the other half thinks it needs new work.

People may disagree but I consider all three of the Strokes albums great, they’ve been awesome every single time i’ve seen em live and their last album, 2006’s First Impressions Of Earth is best of all. There is something so emotionally direct about the Strokes, so old time, dead cool rock star about em, they blew away the local scene when they first emerged from it.

So far, and undoubtedly, none of the solo stuff has been as good. Casablanca might think “a band is a great way to end a friendship” but breaking up the Strokes would be a better way to end a career.
