Steve Crawford, author of “Legends Of Memphis Wrestling” and rock nyc contributing writer brought his family from the wilds of Dallas for a vacation at the Big Apple and we finally got to meet one of our favorite writers.
Often, meeting somebody you only know online can be a big let down, handsome, great taste in music, excellent writer, this we knew. But what if he was a jerk with a family that resembled the Munsters? Luckily this wasn’t the case at all, Crawford is, if anything, nicer in person and his family is awesome, his son Zachary? Plays drums and guitar and Steve and I are planning to form a Boy Band around him and exploit him for every penny we can get.
As for his wife and daughter? Forget how nice they are, they are two of the loveliest looking women (and girl, Tori is 15) you’d ever want to see!
Music wise, Zach has the taste in the family, referencing My Dark Beautiful Twisted Fantasy as a favorite album and agreeing on Nicki Minaj has exactly one verse, the “Monster” one, in her. We will ignore his bizarre love for Brand New here.
Beth (the wife) is more into Broadway show tunes, nodding her head in agreement for Rodgers Hammerstein, Hart, more than aware of Paul Williams and a big time Streisand fan.
Tori likes a mix of pop radio like “Blurred Lines” and “We Can’t Stop” (but thought “Get Lucky” was repetitive!) and average power poppers like Go Radio, a fave of the Hartford contingent of rock nyc.
As for young Steven? well, if you’ve read this much you probably have an excellent idea as to what Mr. C loves. I recommend you just keep reading him to find out more!
