Has Sly Stone hit rock bottom and started on his way back up?
When we last wrote about Sly he was living in a trailer after having sold his song royalties to Michael Jackson for peanuts.
The good news is Sly is out of the trailer and in rehab.
If ever drugs made and broke a man, it is the "We're gonna take you higher" superstar. So well loved by everybody from Larry Graham and Prince to rock rpyaltie and aging fans of 60s classic rock, he just couldn't maintain it.
Perezhilton.com quotes a source as saying: "Sly has fallen on very hard times in the past few years. Sly will be in rehab for at least the next 90 days, and he is committed to getting sober."
Dunno about you but if David Crosby can do it, why not Sly? And a sober and excited Sly with a late career success would be a thing of great wonder and joy to many of us.
I saw Sly at BB King's a number of years ago and he was not great but at MSG with all of rock royalty becoming members of his family??? We can but hope.
