Disney is reaching another musical level for its next movie ‘Wreck-It Ralph’: they didn’t pick the likes of Elton John for the soundtrack, this kind of music is probably too old-fashioned for the youngsters now … No, electronic DJ Skrillex will score the film as it was announced at Comic-Con on Thursday and reported by Billboard magazine.
The movie is a 3D computer-animated comedy directed by Rich Moore (The Simpsons, Futurama) and will feature the voices of John C. Reilly, Jane Lynch and Sarah Silverman. It is scheduled for a November release and tells the story of Ralph, a video game baddie who wants to be a good guy. That’s actually the second movie for Skrillex, as he will also compose material for Harmony Korine’s ‘Spring Breakers’ with James Franco, Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens.
What does it say about Skrillex, is he going to be a soundtrack guy now? And what does it say about Disney productions? Are they going to hire the electronic-man-du-moment for their all kids movies?
