Silver Lake Jubilee Back This May

The Silver Lake Jubilee (http://silverlakejubilee.com) will be back on May 21st and 22nd in my neighborhood (I can actually walk to the event, in LA, it’s really laughable!) and they have just announced the lineup:

Geotic, Ima Robot, We Are The World, Ceci Bastida, Summer Darling, The Black Apples, Jail Weddings, Slang Chickens, Dante Vs Zombies, Black Flamingo, Very Be Careful, Love Grenades, Tommy Santee Klaws, Restavrant, Las Cafeteras, Twilight Sleep, The Finches, Races (formerly Black Jesus), SISU, Cobra Lillies, Pangea

I don’t know many of the bands that are playing, but again probably half of the population of Silver Lake is in a band, so it’s hard to keep up.

Ima Robot is the other project of Alex Ebert from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, and We are the World has nothing to do with Michael Jackson, but I have read their circus-like act is visually and musically stunning. Beside this, I recently saw Jail Weddings and Black Flamingo and they were both really good.

They have promised 50 bands, so this is only about half of them, as many others will be added later. Last year was their first Jubilee, they had three music stages, tons of food trucks to satisfy any culinary desire, and for $5 I thought it was quite a deal.
