She and He On Letterman, "Never Wanted Your Love”

What is the shelf life of a ‘quirky girl’? I for one have had enough of Zooey Deschanel and even in this She and He adventure shes a character actress and a tiring one at that.
Do you think we will have to endure Zooey at 40 doe eyed  and well.. quirky. See there is no other descriptive for her shes a one trick pony.  This She and Him thing periodically produces something memorable but for the most part its a rather blase white noise best suited to background music at some Starbucks or organic farmers market.

And there is nothing wrong with it if you’re in to that sort of thing but then again we all have to evolve eventually.    This appearance on David Letterman is awful.  From the opening bit where I think Dave has a case of temporary Turret’s syndrome to the ending bit where Zooey has her mouth wide open like a …… blow up doll but not as cute.

9 people in this duet is how Dave introduces them and I’m thinking 5 of them could have stayed home an 1 should have gone and fetched a proper fitting dress for She. The generic tune will fit nicely into a background of a romantic comedy, most likely starring, Zoey Deschanel.

I say enough already.  its time to put her on hiatus and let her slip out of that Lucille Ball meets Marlo Thomas facade and evolve into someone a bit less cliche’  I love that at the end her micrphone was off.  Hmm..was it all along. Yeah, shes sings ok I suppose but how bout we flip the record and get something a bit less predictable.
