Share Music Through New FB App

According to many media, technology websites, Facebook will unveil soon a new app from Myxer Social Radio that will allow people to share music, (or shows and movies) that they will be able to listen or watch at the same time in virtual rooms they have created or created by their friends.

For this, you will have to download the free app on Facebook, log in, and join listening rooms or channels based on musical artists, but this goes a step further as you will be able to chat about the song/album you are listening to, even record a ‘Song Story’, a 30-second video to explain what the song means to you!

Myxer’s CEO Myk Willis told TechNewsDaily:

‘We see this as an opportunity to bring people together through music and enhance the experience of music through social content/ No matter where your friends may be, the app can bring people and music together. By adding social context to music with features such as Song Stories, it’s like hearing songs for the first time through someone else's ears.’
‘This is more about strengthening social connections with real friends than a tool that will be used to meet new people. Digital natives enjoy interacting with their friends and this gives them another way to connect as they listen to music.’

You will even be able to vote on whether or not you like the song played in the listening room, and if the majority of people want to hear a new song, Myxer will play another one.

My god, is this really the future, people only interacting through these social media and never meeting together anymore? And how do people actually find the time to do all these things, some days I can’t hardly answer all my emails (personal and at work) and I am not talking about Facebook news feed, Twitter feed, personal messages here and there, a daily endless task.

Call me old, but this ‘Listen with your friend’ feature is not blowing my mind at all, because I don’t need Myxer and all this fancy stuff to listen to music with my friends! Facebook is fantastic to learn about shows, special events, to make people go out and meet, this is how I use social media, I don’t want to pretend to be falsely social sitting in front of my computer.
