This is such a strange old world.
For some weird reason, I wrote about Dennis Potter (the genius TV playwrite) and Black 47’s (the genius Irish rock band) over the weekend (might not have posted it then but…) and today I am reading about Dropkick Murphy and Bruce Springsteen collaborating on a song together. So the connection?
1. Dropkick Murphy’s are as Irish as the Pogues and, more the point, Black 47.
2. The song Bruce and the band are singing together is “Peg O My Heart” -how do you know it? The theme of “The Singing Detective” written by Dennis Potter.
