So after Avenged Sevenfold lost The Rev, we all pretty much knew they were done. His drumming skills were like no other, and no one, and I mean no one, can replace him. Ever. But what’s a band without a drummer? Especially a band like A7X? Portnoy came and went (what was that anyway?)
They’re touring soon, so they had to get a new drummer. Arin Ilejay, who’s the former drummer of the band Confide, will be joining the band on their Nightmare After Christmas Tour. The band announced this earlier today:
“We recently asked several friends who knew Jimmy and his style, and also knew our music and each of our personalities to suggest drummers to tour with us starting this year. Our long time studio drum tech, Mike Fasano, recommended Arin Ilejay. We’ve rehearsed with Arin and have been impressed with his technical skills, attitude and work ethic. We’re very excited to tour with Arin and hope all of you will give him the warm welcome to the family we have.

Let’s just hope this new drummer can live up to The Rev. or “Boom” hes gone too.
