Seattle Band Minus The Bear reviewed by Mary Magpie

Rock NYC writer discusses Minus The Bear whose “Into The Mirror” currently holds the # 1 spot in Canada’s Hot 100.

Seattle quartet Minus the Bear is one of those bands that you can’t help but tap your toes and sway your head to. Self-considered “Experimental/Rock/Indie”, it is easy to get caught up and lose yourself in the odd little techno riffs and Jake Snider’s smooth voice.

So it’s no surprise that after listening to them, I have a huge smile on my face. “Ice Monster” along with “Into the Mirror” sound like songs that would be on heavy rotation at a hip, metro coffeeshop. A coffeeshop that I would happily hang out in quite a few times a week. Easy to listen to or even serenade yourself to sleep, they’re a wonderfully talented and unique band.
