A smash hit everywhere but the US.

Tout Les Temps – Americans In France – AIF are a tough read. I know I love em and I know they feel like something other -like sorta art thingy. And I know the album is a major statement, a big first album. But I don’t know quite what I am listening to. “Tout Les Temps” starts like Richard Hell and the Voidoids and then beguns something else. It keeps on changing speed: if they were driving a car you’d be throwing up in the back seat and the sound is full and empty at the same time with everything crashing into each other. I can understand Helen’s problems with them but I don’t share em. I like the confusion and this is a real good band.

Amphetamine – Everclear – In anticipation of Helen’s interview I’ve been listening to the band and re-discovered this song about another fucked up gir from the 1997 So Much for The Overglow.
Sexy Chick – David Guetta featuring Akon
On The Dancefloor – David Guetta featuring Will. I. Am and apl.de.la – “I’ve got dat…” No not boom boom pow… “fire”. With One Love Guetta ups his game into Paul Oakenfold, Mark Ronson level -to DJ as rock star levels. “Sexy Chick” with Akon’s autotuned and echoed vocals is a smash hit and “On The Dancefloor” is as big a dance record as you will hear this year.
