WTF is up with Weezer anyway? Have they done anything since “Raditude”? Im not saying anything other than these guys disappear a lot. Granted, Rivers Cuomo is an eccentric dude but still, there is no consistency and this whole ‘cruise’ bit is just weird.
The trend of rockers on a ship is not going away. From Kid Rock to KISS there is a slice of ocean for every fan and well, fans will pay for the opportunity to hear a concert on a boat. I don’t suppose its very spectacular. Weezer performs three sets, one of the performances is the aptly named “Beach Concert With Weezer” scheduled to happen on a private island off of Nassau.
It’s not as if the band wouldn’t be segregated, its similar to any performance I would predict a floor of the ship is reserved for them and there they stay aside from a few meet and greets and their show- is it worth it? Not to me. They have announced the line up for this years voyage and well it sucks
Shipping out in mid-February will be Cat Power, Toro Y Moi, Adam Devine, Ash. Bleached, Caveman, DIIV, Holy F*ck, Ozma, Palma Violets, The Cribs, The Orwells and The Relationship. Add all that music to the usual amenities you expect on your cruises – parties, casinos, saloons, food, shipboard activities it’s a SS Minnow adventure to hell.
