In an excerpt from Stone Temple Pilot-Velvet Revolver lead singScott Weiland's memoir published in Spin, Scott admits to being raped at the age of 12.
"He was a big muscular guy, a high school senior who rode the bus with me every day to school. He invited me to his house. The dude raped me. It was quick, not pleasant. I was too scared to tell anyone. 'Tell anyone,' he warned, 'and you'll never have another friend in this school. I'll ruin your fuckin' reputation.'
"This is a memory I suppressed until only a few years ago when, in rehab, it came flooding back. Therapy will do that to you."
That is a terrible thing to have happen to you and except for a warning to the rest of the world that these things happen, I am not quite certain why Scott chose to share it. Is there no way for Weiland to go back and find the person?
The name of the remembrance is "Not Dead And Not For Sale" though perhaps "Not Yet" would be more appropriate.
