Scissor Sisters single 'Baby Come Home' Reviewed

This theatrical pop/rock/dance trend is starting to scare me.  I know quite a few huge Scissor Sisters fans, that's a lie- I know one.  Their latest single is straight off the cereal box.

For those of you who missed the 70's there was a time when breakfast cereals contained a 45rpm record embedded in the box.  You'd just cut it out at the perforation-and pop it on your close and play.  This song would have been perfect on a box of Boo Berry.

An overly dramatic male lead vocal and the piano beat kept with synthy disco- this band IS the 70's.  I know there are early Elton John comparisons but its not so much that as the entire decade.  Yes this is catchy and yes its very danceable but in a nostalgia sort of way.

I am all for nostalgia and I think the 1970s were one of the coolest times ever, big cars, big 'fro's, big lapels and The Scissor Sisters evidently read allot about that era and have reclaimed it as their own.  No harm no foul but certainly nothing new unless you missed it the first time around.

This song would be played at the roller disco.  The video..yeah, there is a video…no words.  Check it out.
