The media is flooded with Tom Cruise sprayed and buffed and looking rock and roll. The guy is 50 with good genetics and a weird nose. For some reason this latest project simply makes me hate him. Why?
I don't like that whole 'rock god' thing he's doing and after that jumping on the sofa on Oprah and psycho babble on Scientology he became more of a freak then a star. This film will not have the comedic appeal that 'Get Him To The Greek' had because
1- Cruise is too old
2- Cruise is too established
Mission Impossible Man cannot be transformed to this no matter how long the hair extensions and the body paint. Lets face it that is one airbrushed physique.
The film is set in 1987, do the math there and Cruise was too old for the role even then. The Broadway show did well and those I know who saw it loved it-but were also big fans of Tesla.
I don't predict a mega blockbuster with this one and I pray the media blitz slows down cuz every time I see this picture I want to gouge my eyes out.
