rock nyc Comes Alive Episode Three: Not Drowing But Wavveing

Alyson Camus comes alive and Mary Magpie channels her on this the  third of our ongoing series of rock nyc readings on video. In the first two episodes Mary read her own work but here she branches out. Alyson is our daring dooer, who hangs out on Los Angeles clubs almost getting herself killed in mosh pits at the dead of night to take pix and review hot young rock bands.

And they don’t come much hotter than Wavves. When I reviewed Nathan’s crew I was in the super safe confines of the Bowery Ballroom balcony, sneering at the plebs below. Not Alyson, at the Echoplex last week she was up to her ears in teenagers moshing her into jelly and loving, well, not loving, but surviving, every minute.

Mary Magpie, who has a career as an actor in her future if you ask me, channels Alysons words of a appreciation and age deferential and takes you right into the sweaty moshpit at Echoplex.
