rock nyc’s collegiate writer Henry Sins took a break from studying for his finals to film himself reading his Versaemerge review of their song “Burn” back in January of this year.
Versaemerge are an estimable band who mix a dark vibes with heavy beats and a chick singer who sounds a touch like Paramore on the Twilight soundtrack with a harder bass. Hebry likes them more than I do, and in episode five of “rock nyc comes alive”, the first without Mary Magpie, Sin takes the lead and doesn’t let go. Sins appeared as the MC in a production of “Cabaret” last year but the only thing left from that spooked performance is the self-confident delivery and the smarts to actually sing some of the music, really letting us hear what he is talking about.
A good idea within reason that singing but I don’t recommend it to everyone. I will certainly pass on it!
