Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp 2014 m/

money to burn?

I have been writing about the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp for years now.  There is something so jaw dropping about adults just pretending to be rock stars is hilarious.  Now I’m not saying it’s odd.  Every adult I know is instant jukebox hero  when they are in their car and all alone.  Air drums or air guitar we all do it but we all don’t spend thousands of dollars to obtain the illusion.

This year the Mandalay Bay House of Blue Resort and Casino (seriously- long enough business name?) in Las Vegas hosts the event with master of ceremonies Gene Simmons.  Yes, the KISS guy who shows up everywhere and who’s carnival huckster persona assure a dime is made for every waking moment.   No surprise here- Gene and Vegas just seem a great pair!

Wait though cuz it’s a has been hoopla!  This years musical mentors include Tommy Thayer (KISS), Sebastian Bach (Skid Row), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), Dave Ellefson (Megadeth). Together alongside Simmons, they will help musicians of all levels form bands  write and record a song. The four-day camp will culminate with a live performance.  Yup, Im not even making it up.

But fear not, if you’re not a fan of old metal guys there are all sorts of options.  This racket is growing leaps and bounds!  Theres even a country music event with that sassy twang Naomi Judd.  It’s crazy that people drop massive coin on these events.  I only wish I had thought of it!

90 minute one day events range about $300 and up to $5,000 if you want to bring your friends for a three hour experience. That’s the ‘Rock Star For A Day’ package.

But if you want the ‘camp’ bit. Get out the black card- big dreams cost.  http://www.rockcamp.com/
