Do you really care about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Are you sitting there on the edge of your seat hand wringing in hopes you fave wins? If so, then you’re really kinda pathetic. What the hell do you care about what a handful of old bags think is best? I cant understand why so much attention is paid to these shananigans. I suppose it’s a cool tourist destination but in fact its a drag, it’s predictable and no one most earning will get a nod.
This year the nominees include Nirvana, Hall & Oates, The Replacements, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Chic, Peter Gabriel, LL Cool J, N.W.A., Link Wray, the Meters, Linda Ronstadt, Cat Stevens, and the Zombies. Hold up…Cat Stevens?
There seems a pretty easy call on this one. Nirvana of course Peter Gabriel… but Cat? Artists, historians and other music insiders have a shot at voting in their hero and they say you can too. The public will comprise a ‘fan vote’ which I suppose would equal about a 1/111134343535 portion of the total score. But it makes you feel good to be a part of it.
The top five artists, as selected by the public, will comprise a “fans’ ballot” that will be tallied along with the other ballots to choose the 2014 inductees. Those will be KISS, Nirvana, Peter Gabriel and if you think Cat makes the cut I think you’re mad, though he would be deserving if the RRHOF was actual a legit institution instead of the cool kids lunch table.
