Rick Nelson Makes The Little Girls Understand by Helen Bach

Its no wonder to me why girls ‘back in the day’ basically would listen to songs and scream.

Not scream lyrics as they do today (much to my nausea) but scream at the top of their lungs like they were gonna die right that moment.

Lyrics have come a long way baby and them more I listen the sadder I become that they have.

“Never Be Anyone Else For Me”, By Rick Nelson (wheres the Y?) proves that you can be a man and be a romantic without losing an ounce of testosterone.

Lyrics by Baker Night, show vulnerability

“‘Cause I hope and pray
The day will come
When you belong to me
Then I’m gonna prove to you
How true my love can be”

Nelsons almost self depreciating monotone give the ‘aww shucks’ that turn it from pathetic to sincere.

This song is nearly 52 years old

But stop a moment to listen closely to the background music. If you focus on that alone it sounds nearly like a techno drum machine. Its freaking brilliant.

So lets put it this way.. if a boy sang this to me I would without a doubt, scream. The sheer romanticism is so greatly missing in todays music. The simplicity has been bulldozed over and scattered til you cant even find it anymore.

Finding love is amazing. Men willing to admit it, so clearly and innocently as this, are sexy as hell.
