Reliant K- Covers Galore!

Reliant K were first introduced to me as a Christian band on the sound track for The Veggie Tales Movie, not kidding.  Something from that point went terribly cool and RK ended up a great hardcore band.  Go figure.  I suppose they're still considered 'Christian Punk" to some but that whole genre is so hypocritical that I'm going to let it slide.

The band has been together since 1998,  that stunned me.  From Canton OH, the band has remained active and vital for all this time.  A huge following of bible thumpers and non.  Vocalist, Matt Theisen really has amazing skill.  It's not always easy to enunciate properly in this sort of music, yet his voice is beautiful and melodic.  I have seen them live numerous times as always the bridesmaid and never the bride but slow and steady wins the race and if they have been around this long they're … 'winning'.

Word comes now of a new release that has me ready to squeal.  An album of covers.  I love cover songs of pop songs done in alt style because they're so damn catchy.  They don't call them 'pop' songs for nothing.  "Pop", means popular, I just hate the vocals and tempo of most top 40 fodder.  This is a great list of covers too- seriously Justin Beiber AND Cake?  Heaven.. bring it on.  K is for Karaoke is due out on October 14th.
