Randy Jackson spoke at The Television Critics Association Winter Session in Pasadena, CA last weekend and used it as an opportunity to declare American Idol as the best talent show of it's kind. Jackson stated that X Factor and the Voice pale in comparrision.
Let's face it, the entire genre of television singing competitions are a hayseed pathetic state of affairs for the worlds population
Heavy opinion? Yup. The general public has become so fat, lazy and medicated that we will love whatever you spoon into us. We no longer can tell when we are being scammed unless they shrink the size of a carton of ice cream.
Randy was quoted as saying:
'Simon and Paula are dear friends of ours. I think that Idol is still the best TV of its kind anywhere, and we invented this whole game and everyone's kind of copying it,' Randy explained, as shows like The X Factor and The Voice were brought up throughout the conversation. 'We wish him well.'
Sounds like a break up doesn’t it. Simon gets the cat and the Vitamix.
This is good too- remember when Steven Tyler was cool? All scarves on the mic stand and all? Mr Big 10"? Yeah, hes a has been- dig this quote:
'[Last season] it wasn't really accepted up front [with the rock community], mostly from my own bandmates because they didn't know what was going on with the Aerosmith thing at the end. But it's brought younger kids to our music anyway,'
'It's like, 'Really?. I can't go anywhere anymore,' he said.
He can't go anywhere anymore cuz his head should be hung in shame for stooping so low.
I have often thrown myself down flights of stairs in the frustration of just why these shows appeal to so many. I just have this horrible vivid image of a trailer park of filthy wife beaters and double knit hillbilly wives rootin on their favorites. To be honest with you it pretty much makes me want to hurl. Its Walmart entertainment for a Walmart world.
American Idol Season 11 premieres on January 18 on FOX.
