Randy Blythe had a rough time awhile back. Thrown into a Czech prison for allegedly killing a fan years prior. A melee’ began and when Blythe blocked the fan he fell hitting his head and dying. Blythe got manslaughter charges and a trip to prison.
rocknyc followed the situation pretty closely. Unlike other music sites we stuck with it even when it got a bit stagnant. There is something about injustice that sucks us in. Blythe was being treated unfairly by the mainstream media, the Czech government and even the US governmental agencies who basically left him to his own accord. It was a great lesson in justice and when all was said and done, Blythe was a free man. The financial toll on his band Lamb of God was huge. What a better way to recoup some loss than a memoir. The trouble is- I don’t think his fans are big readers.
Actually I think he has gained the status of lame. Not sure how that occurred but comments on his sites and the book site are some pretty cruel statements. Blythe has lost his cool. Could this mean the end of days for Lamb of God?
‘Dark Days: My Tribulations and Trials’ and will be available on June 24, 2014 in North America. The memoir was first announced in July, and claims to be “an incredible, harrowing, heartbreaking, and redemptive story told in Blythe’s already well-recognized writing style.” Oh yeah did I mention his journal entries? If you recall he did his best to chronicle his ordeal. He is a wordy fella with a very distinct style- in other words, a wind bag. So this book should be chock full of self loving and quasi intellectual blather. But as one of the comments on the site asks, will it explain that black hair patch he sports on his chin? Not sure- and June is far away.
