A horrible turn of events yesterday when Lamb of God front man Randy Blythe was denied bail after posting the $40, 000.00 demanded. Upon initial custody bail was set for $20k It was doubled this week.
So what happens now?
The prosecutor is set to go before the judge this Friday to explain his reasons for denying bail. The judge then has five days to determine if it is acceptable reasoning and another five days to for his decision to be reported to the court. In simple terms Blythe is in prison for a potential two weeks with no justice. He’s alive, so no one is paying attention. If he gets out I suppose he can write a book or something, maybe then people will see how by not reacting to international injustice we basically screw our fellow man. Well done.
The prosecutor wants to keep Blythe in jail until trial. A trial date yet undetermined for an incident that occurred two years ago. Scared yet? This is just some heavy metal singer in a B level band don’t lose any sleep over it. Imagine revisiting a country you had been to a couple years ago, getting off the plane and being cuffed and carted off for a crime you didn’t even know happened. Then sit there in prison while they up your bail over and over and when you pay it- deny it. Then tell me that no one should be concerned. Tell me why I have to watch Mitt and Obama pick at each other on my nightly news and see not one blurb on this.
I’m forced to watch as ‘journalists’ and ‘hikers’ are detained in countries and I’m supposed to cry and scream God Bless America when they’re freed but I’m supposed to pay no mind to this?
How wonderful it would be to allow myself the luxury of ignorance.
Oh well, maybe they’ll let him out, maybe not who cares. Pass me another cold one American Idol comes on soon.
