Thom Yorke has spoken (on BBC radio), people have listened, and the news has spread everywhere since: Radiohead will tour in 2012.
No tour dates yet, but these are Yorke’s own words: ‘The idea is to go out and play next year on and off during the year’, the idea? Just call it a tour Thom!
That will be the band’s first tour since the release of their album ‘The King of Limbs’, I just hope they don’t book the Hollywood Bowl here in Los Angeles, I know the place fits their mega sound but I can’t afford the garden boxes or even the terrace boxes and I always end up seeing people on stage who measures a fourth of an inch,… not worth it! Or they can play there and in another smaller place, right Thom?
Thom Yorke also made two other announcements, first he suggested that Portishead’s Clive Deamer may be part of the tour as an auxiliary musician, since he already did it during Radiohead’s appearance on BBC’s Live From the Basement. Then he revealed that that his Atoms of Peace project with Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist, Flea, and long time producer Nigel Godrich, is currently finishing an album.
Radiohead is currently invading New York with a Saturday Night Live performance this Saturday, an expanded, one-hour episode of the Colbert Report on September 26th, followed by two dates at Iman’s favorite place, New York's Roseland Ballroom on September 28th and 29th.
