Prince On Tour, Hello Chicago

Purple Rain over Chi Town.  Lame pun but some cool news as his majesty is hitting the road again.  Prince isn't the same guy he was years ago though.  He has aged and he has faced some tough times but through it all he is a great showman and a pretty interesting character.

September 24, Prince will participate in a fundraiser for Rebuild the Dream, Foundation According to advocate Van Jones "Rebuild The Dream brings ordinary people together to rebuild communities and work towards a brighter economic future"  Hows that for an odd and vague description?!

“We couldn’t be more excited about partnering with a legend like Prince,” Jones said. “Our economic system is broken. Rebuild The Dream exists to unite arts and organize into a potent force to support the Dreams Of Our Communities. There are few artists who have Prince’s unwavering commitment to a vision of a sustainable, fair economic future.

There are rumors of additional Chicago dates but what about the rest of the country?  Considering he hasn't played Chicago since 2004 he sorta owes them more  We could also use some new material.  Last I heard he was a door to door Jehovah's Witness, but that could well be Urban Myth.  I haven't seen him live since perhaps '85 so I'm completely out of the loop.  We did cover his last Madison Square Garden gig..could there be another in our future?  I guess our best bet is to stay tuned and find out.  They should stream this concert- I'd watch.
