Prince Announces 21 Date Residency In L.A.

I don’t know what is weirder, choosing the unfunny George Lopez’s show to announce this, or having the idea to play 21 dates in a row! But this is however what Prince did on Thursday night when he called Lopez and said he would continue his ‘Welcome 2 America’ tour with a 21 consecutive dates at the Los Angeles Forum, starting on April 14th.

‘I will be starting a 21-night stand next Thursday the 14th at the L.A. Forum with the New Power Generation and a whole gang of special guests, I'm gonna blast the roof off that place, I promise!’ said the Purple one.
He has also promised to appear in person on Lopez’s show next Wednesday to talk more about this.

21? Why 21? Is it because it is the number of the perfection according to the Bible, or because it represents the harmony of the creation, or because 21 grams is the weight of the soul! As we all know, Prince has gone spiritual so you never know…

The Los Angeles Times has added an update on this, saying that not all the shows will be at The Forum,… so does that mean smaller venues?
