Whats the deal with Pretty Lights? From what I gather they’re a nice little techno dj thing with a healthy mediocre following.
The sound……generic as techno can be, no big WOW! at all. More a case of ..” oh music”, so like wanna order a pizza?
See this type of music is not blowing anyone away. This is background music. Perhaps there are more upbeat songs make some Stolli- tini drinking poser chair dance but really that’s it. The below video for “A Future Blind”, isn’t really gonna reel in the new fans. Its a combo of light fun with some Robert Palmeresque sorta art school nonsense.
Its sorta, no wait, its very, lame.
BUT he does have a super duper fun site offering free downloads of material (or perhaps suggest a donation) and well, it seems to me, Vincent has a mission.
I took some time to review the knob turning club skills and live this guy is a whole different ball of fun. He IS fun. So the point is perhaps this genre’ is better live than recorded. One thing for sure he should have kept the coin used making this video and shown himself in action instead.
What I look for in music is raw power. I like screaming, I like strength.
This is sorta like a store brand paper towel. I mean it does what it has to but its disposable and mediocre.
